Following her first appearances, Chumsky went on hiatus between 1999 and 2005 to go to college. She returned to acting in roles in independent films like Blood Car (2007), In the Loop (2009). She played Amy Brookheimer on the HBO TV show Veep (2012-2019) that received her six nominations to the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, among other awards.
